Why Beginners Should Start With Compound Lifts
Walk into any commercial gym around 6pm and watch how people actually train for strength at home or in the weight room. A good chunk of them drift from machine to machine, working one muscle at a time, and chatting between sets. A smaller group keeps it pretty simple, sticking to a short list of big lifts — squats, presses, rows — and somehow they make faster progress with less total time in the building.
