Why 7 Hours Isn’t Always Enough

Why 7 Hours Isn’t Always Enough

Sleep quality matters just as much as the amount , and yeah small evening changes can make a bigger difference than people think.

The “8 hours a night” rule gets tossed around so much it’s easy to forget that sleep needs can vary in a pretty real way from one person to another, plus the quality is doing heavy lifting too not just the plain number of hours you end up clocking.

Quality over Quantity

If you’re getting frequent awakenings , or you’re having late caffeine, and you’re stuck on screens right before bed, it can fracture your sleep cycles even if you’re technically in bed for seven or eight hours. Then you feel worn out anyway , like you did everything “right” but it still doesn’t land.

Small Evening Changes That Help

Stopping caffeine by early afternoon, dimming the lights about an hour before sleep, and keeping a steady wake time — including weekends — usually improves sleep quality more reliably than trying to add extra hours of lying around.
